Temple Aliyah hosted its first Energy Fair on January 9th, with dazzling results. Over 200 visitors browsed the 24 vendor booths in the Exhibition Hall at the Temple, examined an energy-efficient washing machine, bought locally-produced maple syrup, gathered information about solar installations, home energy audits, and water purification systems, spoke to local farmers, and toured a state-of-the-art electric plug-in Ford Escape.

Attendees also had the opportunity to attend two lively presentations during the course of the morning. MassPIRG hosted a presentation on public transportation in Massachusetts, and over 40 people participated in Green Needham’s Home Energy Efficiency Improvement seminar.

The Home Energy Efficiency Improvement Seminar, featuring domain experts, helps demystify home energy efficiency, making it easier for Needham residents to identify and implement high-value home energy efficiency improvements.

Children ages 5-13 enjoyed a watershed activity led by naturalists from Hale Reservation, a live animal exhibit, and a Radio Disney Game Show on energy conservation.

Contact Vicki Krupp if you’d like to learn more about the vendors and featured activities. If you’d like to bring the Home Energy Efficiency Improvement seminar to your organization, contact Green Needham.
