Michael Greis of Green Needham will meet with the Needham Planning Board at their June 29th meeting to talk about Needham becoming a Massachusetts Green Community. The Planning Board has jurisdiction over two of the requirements the community must fulfill to become a Massachusetts Green Community:

  • As-of-right siting of renewable energy generation, R&D or manufacturing
  • Expedited permitting

Additionally, the Planning Board will have an interest in another requirement – Reducing Life Cycle Costs. A community meets this requirement by adopting the Stretch Energy Code.

Note that the 8:30 pm time is approximate, depending on the progress of other items on the Planning Board’s agenda.
