DESCRIPTION:Internationally renowned science historian and author Dr. Naomi Oreskes will present a webinar on pricing carbon on February 21st\, 2017. Dr. Oreskes is the author of the acclaimed 2010 book Merchants of Doubt. This meticulously researched book documented the (Bill Murray\, not the rodent) “Groundhog Day effect”  experienced when the same small group of people and organizations deployed an identical strategy to cast doubt on the science and evidence against\, respectively\, tobacco\, acid rain\, DDT\, the CFC-driven hole in the ozone layer and\, finally\, climate change. \nAs the evidence of accelerated climate change and its impact on society mounts\, there is an increasing sense of urgency to find solutions.
