DESCRIPTION:Want to learn about electric vehicles (EVs)?  Then join Temple Beth Shalom ‘s Environmental Action Committee on Wednesday\, March 4th at 7:30 pm for their Electric/Plug-in Electric Cars workshop.  Green Energy Consumers Alliance\, part of the Solarize Plus Needham program currently underway\, will tell you all about the benefits of EVs\, plug-in hybrids vs. full electric vehicles\, EV charging options\, driving ranges of different vehicles\, and their “Drive Green” program\, which allows consumers to get EVs at discounted prices at area dealerships.  The program is free and open to the public – all are welcome.\n \n

SUMMARY:Wellesley Rotary Club holds its eighth Repair Café at the Wellesley Recreation Center
DESCRIPTION:The Rotary Club of Wellesley is holding its eighth Repair Café at the Wellesley Recreation Center on March 7th from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. At past Café’s\, coaches and attendees repaired several lamps\, chairs\, dish rack\, clock hands\, two vacuums\, copper water can handle\, two kitchen aid mixers\, sharpened knives\, and removed a frozen door handle. The Wellesley Library will set up a “mobile library station” with lots of DIY and “fix it” books. Bring your tired and broken items to the Café!\nRepair Cafés are free meeting places and they’re all about repairing things (together).  At the Café\, attendees will find tools\, materials to make most repairs\, and volunteer coaches ready to help fix broken items. \nMore information is available on our web site . \nPlease register on the Rotary Club of Wellesley’s website at the link above. Please connect with us online with questions about Solarize.\nThe Green Team at Christ Episcopal Church is teaming up with the Community Art Gallery to host Solarize Mass Plus Needham\, a program to promote rooftop solar\, air source heat pumps\, which heat and cool a home\, as well as electric cars. The Gallery will be presenting environmentally focused art that will be for purchase and viewing during the Community Art Gallery’s Natural Resource show. Stop in for a cup of coffee and dessert and meet the Town of Needham’s Solarize vendor choices\, Boston Solar\, N.E.T.R.\, and also learn about electric cars discounts through the Drive Green program of the Green Energy Consumers Alliance. We will meet in Upper Parish Hall on the ground level of the building. Enter from the Highland Ave entrance to the left of the Chapel\, or from Rosemary Street at the entrance under the awning.
