RTS Needham

Needham residents with an RTS sticker may bring electronics to the North area across from the office (printers, fax machines, receivers, VCRs, keyboards, cables and cords, etc.) There is a fee for computer monitors and TVs. For more information and special handling of computers, click here.

Speakers are mostly wood or plastic and should be disposed of with regular trash.

BEST BUY

Offers free recycling of desktop and notebook computers. ($29.99 fee for monitors and TVs.)  They also offer free recycling for smaller electronics like VCRs, DVD players, printers, MP3 players, stereos, alarm clocks, PDAs, cell phones and digital cameras, toner and ink cartridges, and rechargeable batteries. There is a limit on number of items per day, and they do not accept items from businesses or organizations.  See details. They also have a trade-in program for some electronics, such as iPhones, iPads, PC laptops, and more.

STAPLES

Some devices are eligible for trade-in (check here for information) and many products are free to recycle, including desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, shredders, UPS/battery backup devices, cell phones, digital cameras, and GPS devices. Peripherals are also accepted, including mice, keyboards, modems, routers, and more.  (Recycling is limited to 7 items per customer per day. All brands of items are accepted regardless of where purchased.) See detailed list of acceptable items for recycling.

Eyeglasses

The Lions Club collects used eyeglasses for donation to regional Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centers. The used eyeglasses are cleaned, repaired and classified by prescription. The eyeglasses are then distributed to people in need in low and middle income communities. Individuals may donate used eyeglasses to Lions clubs via Lions collection boxes located at various community offices and businesses, including LensCrafters Eyewear stores, Legacy Place, Dedham, MA (781) 329-6080.     Needham Health Divison is now located at the new Rosemary Recreational Complex at 178 Rosemary Street, Needham. Can you update your page about donating eyeglasses with this information?
