As <a href=\"http:\/\/www.riverbendadvisors.com\/blog\/2010\/02\/energy-star-rebates-coming-and-going-soon\/\" target=\"_blank\">outlined in our early February post<\/a>, the program provides a needed incentive to consumers, but the funding would easily be exhausted within a month with even average demand.  Between Earth Day, <strong>April 22nd<\/strong> and  <strong>May 5th<\/strong>, Massachusetts consumers will be able to earn rebates between $50 and $250 for purchasing certain energy efficient appliances.<\/p>\n<p>As previously described, the program, dubbed the <strong>&#8220;Great Appliance Exchange&#8221;,<\/strong> will<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>be limited to certain appliance types (expected to include refrigerators, freezers, clothes washers and dishwashers)<\/li>\n<li>require consumers to turn in the appliances being replaced<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The list of qualifying appliances and participating retailers will be posted <a href=\"http:\/\/www.masssave.com\/gax\" target=\"_blank\">on the program&#8217;s website<\/a> at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.masssave.com\/gax\">http:\/\/www.masssave.com\/gax<\/a> on <strong>March 22nd<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The stimulus-funded Massachusetts appliance rebate program will have an even shorter window than anticipated &#8211; two weeks.
