For those of you not familiar with Olin&#8217;s composting program, we compost all fruit and vegetable waste during food preparation in Olin&#8217;s dining hall. The program is in its 5th year and it is run by staff and student volunteers.<\/p>\n<p>Fall 2012 data:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Total collected: <strong>4,172 lbs<\/strong> (2 tons)<\/li>\n<li>Avg daily pick-up: <strong>71 lbs<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Total composted (Spring 2009- Fall 2012): <strong>23,783 lbs<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Should be another good year for our community garden!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With another semester behind us, it&#8217;s time to update our composting totals.
