Since creating its first climate change strategy in 2007, Boston under Mayor Menino has been a national leader in developing and executing a comprehensive strategy that encompasses <b class=\"c\">mitigation<\/b> (reducing greenhouse gas emissions), <b class=\"c\">adaptation<\/b> (planning and creating a more resilient infrastructure) and <b class=\"c\">economic growth<\/b> (seizing the opportunities to create a stronger and more vibrant economy).  <\/p>\n<div style=\"width:425px;float:right;margin-left: 10px;\" id=\"__ss_16659382\"> <iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.slideshare.net\/slideshow\/embed_code\/22210889\" width=\"425\" height=\"355\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe> <\/div>\n<p>One attendee summed up the response of many when she observed that <b>&#8220;in the face of so much discouraging news, it was so energizing to hear this story and see the very real success that is possible when there&#8217;s leadership and commitment&#8221;<\/b>.  <\/p>\n<p>Also joining us were representatives from MAPC, the regional planning agency that works with cities in towns in our area, including Needham.  Green Needham is <b>encouraging Needham and our neighboring towns to begin a dialogue<\/b> on how we can take advantage of some of the great work being done in Boston to better plan the future or our communities.  <\/p>\n<p>This Green Needham meeting is being rebroadcast on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.needhamchannel.org\">The Needham Channel&#8217;s Education Channel<\/a> (Comcast Channel 8, RCN Channel 3 and Verizon channel 31).
