Want to learn more about what those fuel economy numbers really mean?  The US EPA has recently released its <a class=\"bc\" href=\"http:\/\/www.fueleconomy.gov\/\">2011 Fuel Economy Guide for vehicles<\/a>.  <\/p>\n<p>In addition to looking up the gas mileage of virtually any vehicle dating back to 1984, you can get a wealth of information about fuel economy, how the mileage per gallon statistics are calculated, tips to improve your gas mileage and information about new types of vehicles under development.  <\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s also a version of the site <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fueleconomy.gov\/m\">optimized for easy search on your mobile phone<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And, if you&#8217;ve ever been frustrated by the labels appearing on cars, take a look at the proposals for a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.epa.gov\/fueleconomy\/basicinformation.htm#guide\">new version of the fuel economy labels for the 2012 model year<\/a>.
