When people feel overwhelmed they become paralyzed. The GO GREEN Needham Expo on Saturday, November 10 from 10am to 4pm at Needham Town Hall will help residents see that the problem is not insurmountable. There are lots of ways we can all take action\u2026 and have an impact. <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenneedham.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Environment-Massachusetts.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9298 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greenneedham.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Environment-Massachusetts.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"286\" height=\"176\" \/><\/a>Environment Massachusetts <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is a citizen-based environmental advocacy project of Environment America. We believe there\u2019s something special about Massachusetts\u2014something worth protecting and preserving for future generations. Whether it\u2019s the gentle current of the Charles River, the waves crashing off Cape Cod, or the rustle of leaves as you walk through your local forest, Massachusetts\u2019s natural wonders enrich our lives in countless ways.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Yet the places we love and the environmental values we share are too often threatened by powerful industries, short-sighted politicians and more. Defending our environment requires independent research, tough-minded advocacy and spirited grassroots action. That\u2019s the idea behind Environment Massachusetts. Together with thousands of supporters from all walks of life, we take the kind of action that wins tangible results for our environment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>What We Do<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Funded by supporters like you, we research the challenges confronting our environment and educate the public about what\u2019s at stake. Through our research reports, news conferences, interviews with reporters, op-ed pieces, letters to the editor, and more, we raise awareness of environmental issues and promote sensible solutions. Our canvassers meet people where they are\u2014in public places or door-to-door\u2014raising awareness, recruiting new supporters and activists, and raising funds to support our work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When decisions are being made about our environment, our elected officials hear plenty from oil companies, developers and other powerful interests. We make the case for our environment and help people like you make your voice heard\u2014using methods like petitions, emails, letters and phone calls, all delivered to the right people just when it matters most.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Environment Massachusetts at GO GREEN Expo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ben Hellerstein is state director for Environment Massachusetts, and will be participating in the GO GREEN Needham Expo as an invited speaker in addition to representing Environment Massachusetts. Mr. Hellerstein will participate on a panel discussion focused on recent legislation passed by the Massachusetts legislature to address climate change while building the green energy economy, and he will share his thoughts on the impact of that legislation, and where we might want to go from here.<\/p>\n<p><b>Want to make your voice heard?
