Globally there are more honey bees\u00a0than other types of\u00a0bee\u00a0and pollinating insects, so it is the world’s most\u00a0important\u00a0pollinator of food crops. It is estimated that one third of the food that we consume each day relies on pollination mainly by\u00a0bees. <\/span><\/p>\n

But, honey bees are dying off at an alarming rate. There is no single cause,\u00a0<\/span>according to most scientists who have studied the problem<\/span><\/a>, but rather a combination of factors that include parasites, pathogens, pesticides, poor nutrition, and habitat loss.<\/span><\/p>\n
