To see a full list of participants, click <\/span><\/i><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenneedham.org\/blog\/go-green-needham-expo-2018\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">here<\/span><\/i><\/a><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/i> <i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hope to see you there!<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>The Massachusetts Bicycle Coalition (MassBike)<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">promotes a bicycle-friendly environment and encourages bicycling for fun, fitness and transportation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Vision for the Future<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MassBike\u2019s envisions a future where bicycling in Massachusetts is a safe, respected, convenient, and enjoyable way to get around. Roads throughout the state would be safe and welcoming for cyclists, and all users would interact in a courteous and legal manner. Car-free pathways would connect our communities, bicycles would be fully integrated into our public transportation system, and secure bike parking would be located where people need it. People of all kinds and means would choose to bicycle for life, work, and play.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To achieve its vision MassBike\u00a0works to improve bicycling across the state of Massachusetts through legislation, education, and outreach.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenneedham.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/MassBike.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9314 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greenneedham.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/MassBike.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"275\" height=\"183\" \/><\/a>Advocacy<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Changing state law can be frustrating and confusing, but this process is crucial to improving laws for bike riders. MassBike offers training to help turn lawmakers into critical allies to improve our town\u2019s streetscape. It organizes members to advocate for laws that make roadways safer for our members and the bicycling community, as well as other roadway users.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Education<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">MassBike offers classes on a wide variety of topics to riders ranging from beginners to advanced. Our diverse instructors include MassBike staff, local professional athletes, Tour de France mechanics, and other experts on their chosen subject matters. Classes are available for large groups and can be booked for businesses, community groups, organizations, or other groups upon request.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Community Support<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cultivating local interest and support of a bicycle initiative is crucial to seeing a project through to completion. MassBike offers planning assistance to municipalities that are interested in starting work on a bicycle project.
