The pavilion presents solutions aimed at reducing a building’s energy demand and maximizing the efficiency of energy generated on–site. The combined active and passive technologies include several forms of solar PV (including advanced thin-film technology), high-performance vacuum insulation panel construction, solar PV-powered louvers for ventilation and a high-efficiency solar-powered heat-pump for climate control.

The Das Haus tour is a showcase for advanced technologies for home construction and solar energy use. Its purpose is to share German innovations that have achieved sustainable construction and operational energy savings by engaging sustainable building experts, associations, and key public officials across North America in an active demonstration of the technologies at work.

More information about the Cambridge tour

Detailed brochure about Das Haus

(PDF brochure)

Das Haus – a traveling demonstration of advanced technologies from Germany, as applied to home construction and solar energy use, is coming to Cambridge in June.
