Founded in 2006 as a community-based volunteer organization, The Green Needham Collaborative brings together Needham residents, businesses, community groups, municipal government and schools to build a sustainable community through collaborative efforts on energy and the environment
Green Needham believes that community-wide collaboration and a focus on trusted local networks are keys to the creation and adoption of new social norms which will drive the transformation to a sustainable community.
Green Needham promotes change through projects to increase energy efficiency, reduce reliance on fossil fuels, reduce energy expenses, promote innovation in energy efficiency and energy production, encourage cost-effective use of renewable energy and offer collaborative, educational opportunities for Needham Public Schools, Olin College students and the community at large.
Green Needham is a member of the Massachusetts Climate Action Network and a recipient of an EPA New England 2010 Environmental Merit Award.
