“A Chemical Reaction” Film Showing

A film to be shown at First Parish in Needham, 23 Dedham Ave., tells the uplifting story of a town in Canada that won the right to ban toxic lawn pesticides and the court case that went all the way to the Supreme Court of Canada. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the film will be shown at 7:15 p.m.  The film will be followed by a discussion and Q and A with 3 panelists.

  • Chip Osborne, founder of Osborne Organics, LLC. has over 10 years experience in creating safe, sustainable and healthy athletic fields and landscapes, and 35 years experience as a professional horticulturist.
  • Sara Wylie is the Director of Toxics and Health Research at the Public Laboratory for Open Technology and Science (PLOTS).
  • Ellen Fine is the Founder and Director of The LEAH Collective, a grassroots pesticides awareness organization that promotes organic, permaculture alternatives in land care and gardening.

Learn how to reduce synthetic pesticide and fertilizer use as a means to help prevent cancer, ADD/ADHD, asthma, adverse reproductive health problems and Parkinson’s Disease and other health concerns associated with pesticide use and exposure.
