Film about Tackling Food Waste

December 8, 2015 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Free
Watch the award-winning movie about food waste, “Just Eat It,” inspired the book “America’s Wasteland,” by Wellesley High graduate Jonathan Bloom. Then hear from another Wellesley native, Ashley Stanley, founder of Lovin’ Spoonfuls, a non-profit organization that matches excess food with people in need. The event marks an increasing concern locally about food waste. As much as 40% of the food grown in the U.S. is never eaten, although many people do not have enough to eat. In addition to the human cost of wasted food, there is also a tremendous cost in energy and water that is used to produce the food.
