Founded in 2006, Green Needham Collaborative is a volunteer organization dedicated to securing a better future through local action. We engage in concrete projects to create a more sustainable and economically healthy community — one which is committed to reducing carbon emissions and using resources wisely. As we build on our successes, we promote the development of new social norms which will drive this transformation to a sustainable community.

We are committed to working collaboratively —  providing support, making connections, and bringing together Needham residents, businesses, community groups, municipal government, schools, colleges, and houses of worship.

What We Do

  • Initiate and promote renewable energy, energy efficiency and energy conservation projects.
  • Advocate for effective public policy to reduce reliance on fossil fuels and advance the sustainable energy economy.
  • Help the community take advantage of state and regional resources to reduce energy use and save money.
  • Educate and inform about energy and sustainability issues and best practices, offering educational opportunities for Needham Public Schools, college students and the community at large.

Green Needham is a member of the Massachusetts Climate Action Network and a recipient of an EPA New England 2010 Environmental Merit Award.
