Envision Needham Center Update

The next meeting of the Envision Needham Center Working Group (ENCWG) will be on Wednesday, March 18 at 6:30 pm in the Select Board Chambers at Needham Town Hall and via Zoom. At this meeting, the ENCWG will review the results and analysis of the recent townwide survey.  To receive notifications of the ENCWG meeting agendas by email or text, please sign up for the Envision Needham Center ListServ through the Town’s “Notify Me” system.  Meeting agendas will also be posted to the calendar on the Town’s website.  Please  Note: you must confirm your account before you receive any email or text notifications. After you sign up, check for an email or text from the Town with  a link to confirm your notification selections.

Tree Preservation Planning Committee Community Forum

Following its yearlong work to develop a tree preservation by-law for the Town, the Tree Preservation Planning Committee (TPPC) is hosting another Community Forum on Wednesday, March 25th from 7-9 pm in Powers Hall in Needham Town Hall and via Zoom.  The Committee will present the main concepts for a proposed draft tree preservation by-law and seek feedback from the community. This is the third public forum the TPPC has held to involve community input, following forums held in June and November 2025.

 

Pollard Middle School Project Open House

On Saturday, March 28, from 9 am – 10:30 am, community members are invited to Pollard Middle School for an open house hosted by the Needham School Committee. This is a great opportunity to view the building, talk with the School Committee in an informal setting, and view a presentation about the Pollard Middle School Building Project. Tours will be available for those who have not been able to see the building.  Visit the project website to sign up for weekly email updates and to find information on future meeting dates, FAQs, project documents and more.

 

Fix-It Clinic

Do you have a broken item in your home that you know you could fix with the right guidance? Needham’s first-ever Fix-It clinic will be held on Saturday, April 11 from 10 am – 2 pm in the Community Room of the Needham Free Public Library.   A volunteer Repair Coach will work with you through diagnosing and repairing your item, saving you money and helping to reduce waste! Click here to reserve a time slot based on the category of broken item: sewing and textiles, clocks, lamps, small household appliances, and houseplant triage.  This event is a collaboration among the Needham Free Public Library, the Recycling & Solid Waste Division, and the Sustainability Department. Meet an Electric Vehicle (EV)

The Town Climate Action Committee (CAC) and Green Needham will be co-hosting a “Meet an EV” event on Saturday, April 11th from 10 am – 1 pm at the Needham Free Public Library lower lot.  Drop by to meet with Needham EV owners and their EVs to chat about costs, reliability, and savings.  Interested in volunteering to be a Needham EV representative for a future “Meet an EV” event?  The Climate Action Committee and Green Needham are looking for Needham owners of electric vehicles who would be interested in displaying their vehicles and answering residents’ questions about their EV experience.  The time commitment is expected to be 2-3 hours on a weekend about two times per year.  Email the Town Climate Action Committee at: climate@needhamma.gov for more information.
