- The church has converted from oil heat to a heat pump/high efficiency gas boiler system

- Panels produce more electricity than the church uses. Church members buy the extra electricity

- 35,400 kWh expected yearly production
- The church has achieved the highest Green Congregation designation, Level 4, from the United Church of Christ.
Temple Aliyah
- 260 solar panels installed in 2017
- 673,000 kWh produced to date, providing 90% of the electricity use
- The array has avoided 404 tons of CO2 emissions to date.
Temple Beth Shalom
- 297 solar panels installed in 2019
- 879,500 kWh produced to date
- For the electricity use not covered by the solar panels the Temple buys power from a community solar project.

- 779,000 kWh of electricity produced as of Sept. 19, 2025
That number translates to 467 tons of CO2 have been avoided, enough to offset 68,785 gallons of gasoline
Solar at the Recycling and Transfer Station

The array produces the equivalent of about 25% of the electricity used by all Town facilities in a year.
It is saving the Town millions of dollars. The reported annual savings for just the year 2024 was over 1 million dollars.
