Fresh Watermelon Among a Variety of Fresh Food Available at the Needham Farmers Market                                 

This Sunday, August 31st the Needham Farmers Market will have a variety of fresh food. The MacArthur Farm will be bring cantaloupe, watermelon, romano and wax beans, Jersey Macs, Paula Red apples, Yukon gold potatoes, peaches, and much more. The corn special of 14 ears of corn for $3 is still available and the corn is picked Sunday morning at the MacArthur farm in Holliston.  

The Neighborhood Farm will have pineapple (sweet, bright flavor, low acid tomato) and Pruden’s Purple (rich and tomato-y, old fashioned flavor), Japanese Black Trifele, Valencia, Paul Robeson, Brandywine, Dr. Wyche’s Yellow, Aunt Ruby’s German Green, Yellow Brandywine, Moskvich, Rutgers, German Johnson, Black Krim, Cherokee Purple, Hillbilly, Green Zebra, Black Sea Man, Kellogg’s Breakfast, Lillian’s Yellow, Rose De Berne, Tiffen Mennonite, Rosso Sicillian, Opalka Paste, Casady’s Folly, red beefsteaks, red slicing tomatoes, plum tomatoes, paste tomatoes, and red, orange, yellow, and chocolate cherry tomatoes, eggplant, jalapenos, and absolute perfect peaches from their friends at Old Spring Orchard.

This week’s featured vendor is a new addition to the Needham Farmers Market. Welcome Fiore d’Italia, a renowned chef better known as the “Pastaman”. He sells fresh frozen gluten-free pasta, sauces and cheeses at many area farmers markets and will be a vendor at the Needham Farmers Market for the remainder of the season.

Jam Sandwich, a light rock cover band is this week’s featured live musical performance sponsored by Not Your Average Joes Bar and Grill.

Two local artists, Jordan Fuller and Tonya Grace will be at market showcasing and selling their work.

Our vendors include MacArthur Farm, Neighborhood Farm, Globe Fish, Lilac Hedge, Susie’s Baking/FUNdamentally Nuts, Ackerman Maple Farm, Playful Pub, Fior d’Italia, and Uyghur Bread.

Celebrating Labor Day, Kids can score farmer bucks by telling the Needham Farmers Market what they want to be when they grow up.
