Have we outgrown the planet? Is there an alternative to perpetual economic and population growth?  A free showing of the film “Growthbusters: Hooked on Growth” will take place at First Parish in Needham, 23 Dedham Ave., on Sunday, November 17 at 7 p.m. This thought-provoking documentary challenges our beliefs linking growth with prosperity and fulfillment. Weaving in interviews with leading thinkers, animation and humorous skits, the filmmaker documents his efforts to challenge the growth addiction of his own hometown.  Also featured are groups and individuals offering alternatives that they believe would move the world toward true sustainability.  Mike Hanauer, the Director of GrowthBusters.org, will lead the post-film discussion.
